Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd is based at Cairndow, at the head of Loch Fyne on the West Coast of Scotland.  From this stunning location we have been supplying our customers with the finest fish and seafood for over 45 years.  From our internationally renowned Oyster Bar Restaurant and through the products we sell globally, we pride ourselves on provenance, quality and sustainability.

We are in the envious position where we can enjoy all the great outdoors has to offer; beautiful beaches, views, walks, wildlife and outdoor sports, as well as not being far from Dunoon, Helensburgh, Dumbarton and Glasgow, to enjoy the benefits of a large town or city. 

Our team at Cairndow fulfil a wide variety of roles from our restaurant and retail teams, along with administration, sales and support functions.  As well as our site in Argyll, we also have Aquaculture sites located on the Isle of Lewis and Cumbria.

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and reliable person to join our KITCHEN TEAM, in our award winning Loch Fyne Oyster Bar Restaurant. The successful applicant needs to have good communication skills, a positive attitude and be able to work well as part of a team, in a busy kitchen environment. Previous experience in a catering or food handling role would be beneficial, however full training will be provided. Duties will include: preparation of food, cleaning and general kitchen tasks.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced, skilled and highly organised SOUS CHEF to assist with the day to day running of our busy KITCHEN TEAM, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and service. Key responsibilities will be to assist the Head Chef with all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking and presentation; assisting with the supervision and training of the Kitchen Team, ensuring they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards; helping to oversee inventory management, including stock ordering and rotation, managing cost control measures to optimise profitability; plus deputising in the Head Chef's absence, including organising staff rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels. 

The successful applicant needs to have strong leaderships skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team, be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen, whilst maintaining attention to detail, as well as having excellent food presentation skills, plus a knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, together with good organisation skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Experience in a similar environment working with fish and seafood, plus a HNC level qualification or experience would be beneficial.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated HEAD CHEF to oversee the day to day management of our busy KITCHEN TEAM, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and service. Key responsibilities: managing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and presentation; supervising, mentoring and training the Kitchen Team, ensuring they adhere to food safety and hygiene standards; oversee inventory management, including stock ordering and rotation, managing cost control measures to optimise profitability; plan staff rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels, plus monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and standards. 

The successful applicant needs to have proven leaderships skills with experience supervising and motivating a diverse team in a fast-paced kitchen environment, whilst maintaining attention to detail; have excellent culinary skills with a passion for creating new dishes, together with experience working with fish and seafood; have a knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices, strong organisation skills with the ability to multitask effectively, plus great communication skills to support teamwork between the Kitchen and Front of House staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focused person to join our DELICATESSEN TEAM. The successful applicant needs to have a positive and friendly personality, excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to influence and advise customers on our products, plus be able to work well as part of a team. Previous experience in a retail or catering role would be beneficial, however is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties include: interacting with customers, providing information and suggestions on our products; cash handling, stock rotation and replenishment; food, beverage and product preparation for takeaway, promotional tastings, assisting with the deli displays and keeping the deli and associated areas clean and tidy.

Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our HEBRIDEAN MUSSELS TEAM, assisting with the farming and processing of shellfish at our EARSHADER site, located on the ISLE OF LEWIS, OUTER HEBRIDES.  The ideal person will be able to work well within a small, focused team. Previous aquaculture with transferrable related skills would be beneficial. The role will involve working outside, including boat handling, as well as inside the site's Mussel Farm Centre. 

Day to day duties will vary and include:

  • Husbandry and harvesting shellfish using designated equipment.
  • Grading and packing shellfish.
  • Boat handling / operation.
  • Assisting with transporting shellfish to designated areas.
  • A range of cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the site. 

Qualifications: Powerboat Level 2 Commercially Endorsed or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
