Smoked Haddock with Chive Sauce

Glorious served with buttery mashed potatoes or colcannon and spring greens.

Shopping List

  • 400g undyed smoked haddock fillet
  • 2 tbps mascarpone
  • Small bunch chives, finely chopped
  • 10g butter
  • 150ml full cream milk
  • Black pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1. Place fish in a wide shallow pan.  Add milk, bring to the simmer, cover and cook gently for 8-10 minutes.
  2. Remove fish to a warmed plate, cover with a tent of foil to keep warm and set aside.
  3. Simmer the cooking liquid uncovered for 5 minutes until slightly reduced, add the mascarpone and whisk to incorporate, then whisk in the butter. 
  4. Scatter in the chives, season with black pepper and pour over the haddock.
