A traditional French dessert, delicious served with a spoonful of thick creme fraiche.

Cooking Instructions
- Butter a 20cm shallow flan dish and scatter with the pitted cherries.
- Sift the plain flour, salt and caster sugar into a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the vanilla extract. Gradually add the milk and double cream and whisk until thoroughly combined.
- Add the flour and sugar mixture slowly to the egg and cream mixture, beat well until smooth.
- Pour over the cherries and bake in a preheated oven 180°C, gas mark 4 for 45 minutes or until just firm.
- Sift with icing sugar and serve warm.
