Our Oyster Bar overlooks the head of Loch Fyne. location for the film of The Waterhorse, currently on general release. The film features Ardkinglas House which is 10 minutes away from the Oyster Bar - house tours available.

The original Oyster Bar and shop started in a small shed in the lay-by at the head of Loch Fyne in the early 80’s then in 1985 moved into the old cow byre at Clachan Farm. We are proud to have been listed in the Good Food Guide every year since then.

Food is served throughout the day. The menu includes shellfish and smoked fish along with white fish dishes, Scotch beef steaks and a vegetarian option. Home made desserts and Scottish cheese. Prices range from £3.95 to £29.50. The wine list is especially chosen to complement the fish & shellfish, including our own label Gros Plant from Leon Boullault at Nantes. 'Le plus proche de l'ocean' they say of Gros Plant locally and drink little else with oysters.

The Oyster Bar building now features the Birlinn Bar - based on the highland galley. Loch Fyne Restaurants have now branched out from this site and have opened restaurants throughout the UK.

Moorings
Loch Fyne Oysters have laid four moorings at the most northerly navigable part of Loch Fyne.  These are available for the use free of charge to shop and Oyster Bar customers who use them at their own risk.
