Loch Fyne Oysters

Based in old farm buildings at Clachan, Cairndow, at the head of Loch Fyne, Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd  runs the original Oyster Bar and Shop , their Mail Order service,  the Smokehouse, the Oyster and Mussel Farm, and a Trade Sales Service.

A company owned and run by its employees, we are celebrating our Pearl Anniversary throughout 2008

Our reputation has spread across the world thanks to the many visitors who find their way to Cairndow as well as through our products which are sold from Hong Kong to Cape Town.

We employ over 120 people, and have developed strong links with the local communities as well as attracting an increasingly international workforce.

The Loch Fyne Shop at Cairndow has been running alongside the Oyster Bar since 1988. It stocks a wide range of produce including bakery, chutneys, sauces, jams, wines and beers as well as seafood, meat and game.

Since 2003, the Company has been owned and run by its employees  as in 2002 the death of one of the original partners prompted a change of ownership.  All employees now own shares in the Company, a move facilitated by the Baxi Partnership – a Trust set up to help companies become employee owned.

We also have a separate Trust, the Loch Fyne Oysters Trust, funded by a percentage of Mail Order sales. The Trust  assists projects or chairties working within the local community or with links to it.
